face it

I've never had an actual sauna, but I do worship my lovely little face sauna. My skin routine before a night out is to exfoliate the night before, then use a face sauna on the day - seriously glowing skin.

Facial saunas have to be one of the most simple beauty treatments ever. You take off the top piece (the purple bit), pour some water into the white section, put the top piece back on, then change the dial to '1'. The top piece is interchangeable with another one that just holds your nose (a nose sauna, basically). I had a leaflet with mine saying that you shouldn't use a face sauna for more than 20 minutes; I do it for 15 minutes and this seems enough.

If you haven't got a face sauna then you can just fill a bowl with boiling water then hold your head over it & put a towel over your head. It really opens up your pores and gets rid of whatever's lurking in them. I go for a bath/shower straight after using mine, then moisturise my face straight after. It seems to do the trick!

I'm not sure if most bloggers use face saunas but none of my friends "in real life" do so it seemed worth posting :)

P.S - sorry about the cheesy title.

yawn

I'm writing this on Saturday night, whilst watching Big Daddy. Anyone remember that film? I love it, so cute and funny! On to a more blog-worthy topic..blogger is full of posts about the nail varnish that came free with Elle this month and I'm about to add to it :).

I initially wanted the orange shade, but I could only find that with the travel sized edition and I have a thing about getting the full sized one. Unfortunately, the full sized magazine only came with the grey. I love it though!

That's without a top coat! Impressive, yes? It only took two coats to get that finish, though it did take a while to dry.

Later on I got bored and did this. The pink is Eyeko Punk Polish and the orange is OPI Hot N Spicy. The grey isn't particularly original but it applied well and has a nice finish. I'd probably give it 3.5 out of 5 stars (it loses points because it took a while to dry and it chipped easily, though that may have been my fault).
What do you think?

P.S. Excuse the slightly dodgy colouring, I didn't get around to doing it until night time. Also, excuse the terrible skin on my hands - eczema's playing up yet again.

what's in my bag

If I'm completely honest, I am ridiculously nosey and love it when bloggers do this post. My bag is nowhere near as interesting, but I'll give it a go..

The bag:

I got it ages ago from Primark and I think it cost like £6, or something ridiculous like that. It's my favourite bag because it's just so versatile and pretty. Also, I'm a total clutz so an across-the-body bag is essential, unless I want to lose my bag and everything in it.

What's in it:

1. Piriton: I have hayfever and about a million other allergies so this is definitely an essential. Plus it tastes delicious.
2. Paco Rabanne Lady Million: I've said it before and I'll say it again - favourite perfume EVER.
3. Boots card & bank card: I always happen to wander into some Boots or other & I resent having to put the points onto my receipt (mainly because I always forget to claim them back and it feels like a waste) and my bank card is just in case of any impulse buys.
4. Prescription: between me & my mother, we probably have about 10 things on repeat prescription. I always tend to carry one around with me since I never realise when I'm running out of something so it's handy to put one in whenever I remember.
5. Chewing gums, for obvious reasons.
6. Clips - in case of fringe emergency.
7. Comb - I don't comb my hair, but I am an avid fan of back-combing.
8. Neutrogena Norwegian Formula hand cream: so much love for this hand cream. It's cheap, non-greasy, quick to soak in, and isn't an irritant.
9. A stupid amount of lip products: Korres Wild Rose lip butter, Clinique "superbalm moisturizing gloss", Carmex original, Korres Guava lipstick in Natural Pink, Korres Cherry Lipgloss in Beige Pink, Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Indulgence.
10. Unguentum 100g: this has been my prescription moisturiser since I was first diagnosed with eczema & it's still one of my favourites. Not the most glamorous of products but definitely worth a try if you have eczema or just dry skin. You can buy it here, £13.75 for 500g. I have no idea how reliable that website is so please try and get it from your local pharmacy first!
11 & 12: house key & £5, another of my "just in case" things.

Nothing particularly exciting in my bag but what do you expect - I only went food shopping and over my auntie's!

pow

Hello! I can't believe it's Friday again, time seems to be flying by lately.

tights, skirt, top: h&m.
cardigan: mother's.
ring: wallis.

Just a quick outfit post before I go shopping with my parents. I love the first day after food shopping, there's so much goodies here! Nom. I'll be wearing this with brogues and my trusty Primark bag (favourite bag ever). I tend to carry this cardigan everywhere "just in case." I have no idea what it's in case of, suppose it's just a habit hah.

Blogger's being really silly and won't let me put the pictures next to each other? Hmm, I wish I was good with a computer. Anyway, anyone got any plans for the weekend? I'm having a night in with my boyfriend tonight, don't think we've spent a Friday night together in a while! I may push my luck and see if we can get a Chinese *evil laugh*.

Have a good weekend!

..

Words cannot express how bad I am at nail-art. I really do try but it just doesn't work and it doesn't help that I haven't even got any of the tools hah, can anyone recommend a good ebay seller?

I did these the other day; I'd originally planned on doing an aztec pattern but that went horribly wrong so I changed it to what I hoped would be a dalmatian print but was actually more of a white leopard print, grr.

The colours I used were Essie Blanc, which I found hiding in my drawer for varnishes that didn't impress me, and some rubbish old Rimmel black polish. This was pre-clean-up (I have no idea why) and it's photographed really badly! In person it looks quite chic and cool but sadly it just doesn't translate over the camera.

On a happier note, MY NEW LAPTOP IS HERE. I tried photographing it but it's too shiny so you can just see my reflection and no-one wants to see that hah.

What do you think of nail art?

P.S. Cher Lloyd is number 1. I'm ashamed of Britain.

wishlist wednesday

1. This whole outfit, apart from the necklaces. It's already been stuck into my scrapbook for future reference hah. I'm too lazy to look up the necklaces but the blouse is here for £24.99 and the shorts are here for £29.99, both of them come in different colours. Am I the only one annoyed with the H&M price increases? I will keep buying from there, even if I think it's a bit overpriced, but I'm still a bit miffed!

2. My new laptop. It's a nice new shiny red dell laptop & it could be here tomorrow! Eek, so excited! I've had to share an acer one with my brother for over a year and it's just absolutely rubbish, but the dell one I had before that lasted ages and survived many drops & viruses.

3. This necklace from Tiffany's. I tried to get the picture but it didn't work. It costs £185 so I won't be buying it any time soon but I just want something, anything, from Tiffany's! I'd also die for a Tiffany's charm bracelet. My goal in life is to be able to buy designer clothes and jewellery (isn't that a weird word?) from Tiffany's without having to worry about the cost.

4. That nail dust type thing from superdrug? I've seen it on a few blogs, I think it's by Gosh? I've tried looking on the website but either I'm incredibly stupid or it just has a rubbish layout, so I can't find it on there. Orrr I suppose it could only be available in store.
What's on your wishlist?

to fringe, or not to fringe.

I am seriously the most boring person ever when it comes to hair. Mine has never been dyed/highlighted and the biggest change I make is changing where my parting is.

Since I'm off to university in September, I'm considering getting my full fringe back. So basically, I really want your advice. Should I keep my hair as it is now..

Or should I take the plunge and get my full fringe back? Please excuse the god awful pose ha..

I would've chosen a better picture but there's a grand total of 3 pictures of me with my fringe and you can't really see it in the others. Please help!
